Westminster Presbyterian Church

Notification Received: May 20, 2020 - JTE

[NEW] Leadership Team is well aware that there is an anxiousness about returning to in-person worship.  It was the consensus of Leadership Team that it yet not the time based on the best information available.  It is best for right now to continue on-line worship or other creative ways you have accommodated the needs of your congregations.

We will continue with the weekly pastor Zoom meetings to maintain open communications and support.

All worship service, the Sarah Circle, and the Actionaires meeting at Mount View Presbyterian - All have been cancelled until we are given the "all clear" by the civil authorities.  However, efforts will be made to stay in contact with members of the congregations.  The church offices will be open.

First Congregational UCC

Notification Received: May 02, 2020 - JTE

It was kind of the governor to acknowledge the separate nature of churches and I appreciate that.
However, we are continuing services via Zoom at 10am into June per recommendation of our Conference Office/Minister in Des Moines and vote of the congregation.
Not sure if the vote was so unanimous because of the ability to stay at home or because they can mute the Pastor :-)

We will monitor on a week-to-week basis but for now that is the plan.

Blessings to everyone for safety, courage and peace during this challenging time.

Peace Church of the Brethren:

Notification Received: Wed, May 20, 6:40 PM

[NEW] Hi Jon, Peace COB is not meeting at the building until June at the earliest.  The numbers in Pott CO and Douglas County( where some of our members come from) do not look good enough at this point for us to meet in person.   Blessings as You minister and thanks for your administrative work.

Lois Grove for Peace Church

At Peace Church of the Brethren we are doing a weekly mailing to our church family and friends with updated prayer requests, denominational news, Daily Bible Readings and questions for reflection and reminders that the Deacons (whose phone numbers are included) stand ready to assist with any kind of request.

Blessings to each and all of you as we work through this crisis with the help of God and each other.  Lois Grove

Community of Christ

Notification Received: Tue, May 5, 2020, 11:55 AM

We all know there are lessons to be learned in this whole situation were just not sure what it is .

We’ve been sending a weekly newsletter that included a message on the weekly theme, announcements , sharing of our graduates stories that they have provided , sharing health concerns , updates on our rebuild, and any other thoughts we might have.  Each day we spend time on the phone , emailing and  texting members to male sure they are doing okay .  This is so confining for our people that live alone . We don’t know when we will be able to provide regular worship services our directions from headquarters if nothing until after May 31st   and I fully expect that to be extended  . Our camps have almost all been  cancelled . We will just have to wait and see

We are on shorten office hours 9:00—12:00 Mon. thru  Fri.  . We continue to pray for our whole nation well world each day and that the cases will start to drop soon . We know God has a plan and He works on His time schedule .

Blessings to all

Co Pastor
